Keyframes are used to define parameters for motion, effects, audio, and many other properties that typically change over time. A keyframe marks the point in time at which you specify a value for a layer property such as position in space, opacity, or audio volume. Values between keyframes are interpolated. If you use keyframes to create a change over time, you must use at least two: one for the state at the beginning of the change and one for the new state at the end of the change.
When the stopwatch is active for a specific property, After Effects automatically sets or modifies a keyframe for the property at the current time when you change the value of the property. If the stopwatch is inactive for a property, that property has no keyframes. If you change the value of a layer property while the stopwatch is inactive, the value remains the same for the entire layer.

Adobe has two of the most popular, well-known and widely used animation programs today: Adobe Animate and After Effects. Both are used for different purposes and have specific functions, tools and features. But what are the differences between Adobe Animate vs After Effects?
Adobe Animate allows users to create animations in a more comfortable and simple way. It is true that After Effects has a much wider range of possibilities. But this will also make it more complex to use. Adobe Animate has the right tools for a simpler use and is ideal for beginners.
Adobe Animate is a program especially suited for character animation. After Effects offers many of the effects that come in Adobe Animate. But its interface is not entirely designed for that. If you want to create character animation, it is best to use Adobe Animate.
After Effects is, without a doubt, the best current program for creating visual effects. Its interface, its tools and the different styles it has for layers make it the perfect program to carry out a more advanced composition. It is also compatible with Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
